What is a fall consulting internship?

A Fall Consulting Internship is a temporary, often part-time position offered by consulting firms during the fall academic semester. Interns work alongside experienced consultants, assisting with research, data analysis, client presentations, and strategic problem-solving projects. This internship provides students or recent graduates with practical experience in the consulting industry, exposure to real-world business challenges, and opportunities to develop professional skills. It can also serve as a pathway to full-time employment after graduation.

What types of projects does a fall consulting intern typically work on, and how closely do they collaborate with full-time consultants?

Fall Consulting Interns usually work on a variety of client-facing projects, including market research, data analysis, and strategy development. Interns are often assigned to project teams where they collaborate closely with experienced consultants, contributing to team meetings, presentations, and deliverables. This structure allows interns to gain hands-on experience while receiving mentorship and feedback from full-time professionals. The collaborative environment helps interns quickly develop consulting skills and understand the pace and expectations of the industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a fall consulting intern, and why are they important?
