Defense Attorney
If you are a Defense Attorney with at least 2+ years Civil Litigation defending companies, billing and reporting, depositions, and must be willing to personally appear at proceedings, meetings, court appearances, depositions, witness interviews, site inspections, etc.

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Defense Attorney to join our litigation team focusing on defense work in product liability, contract breaches, shareholder disputes and personal injury and motor vehicle accident cases. The Attorney will represent clients in civil matters, develop defense strategies, manage case loads from intake through resolution, and collaborate with senior counsel to achieve favorable outcomes. The ideal candidate has strong defense litigation experience, courtroom presence, and familiarity with auto accident and slip-and-fall matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle defense litigation for product liability, contract breaches, shareholder disputes, personal injury and auto accident cases, including motor vehicle collisions and slip-and-fall incidents.
- Manage case lifecycle: client intake, investigation, evidence collection, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
- Develop and implement litigation strategies to protect clients interests, reduce liability exposure, and achieve favorable resolutions.
- Draft and review legal documents including complaints, answers, motions, briefs, demand packages, and settlement agreements.
- Prepare witnesses and conduct depositions; collaborate with experts such as accident reconstructionist and medical professionals.
- Advise clients on legal options, risks, and potential outcomes throughout the case.
- Work closely with partners and senior associates to coordinate defense approach and share case progress.
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed.
- Maintain case files, calendars, and billing records in accordance with firm policies and ethical obligations.
- Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in personal injury and defense litigation.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in good standing.
- Proven experience as a defense attorney in personal injury, auto accident, or related civil litigation matters.
- Demonstrated courtroom experience, including hearings, depositions, and trials.
- Strong legal research and writing skills; ability to draft persuasive motions and briefs.
- Excellent negotiation and client counseling skills, with a focus on protecting client interests.
- Familiarity with common defense issues in motor vehicle and slip-and-fall cases, including use of experts and accident reconstruction.
- Comfort working as an associate within a litigation team and collaborating with partners and support staff.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
