Job description

Wastewater/Grease Recovery Technician

While working under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the wastewater/grease recovery tech would be responsible for performing daily wastewater duties and assisting with maintenance when needed
Responsibilities
  • Perform all assigned work safely and efficiently, adhering to all company policies, plant rules, and safety regulations.
  • Comply with all Federal, State, and Local Laws, including OSHA regulations.
  • Execute both oral and written instructions effectively.
  • Maintain accurate internal and external regulatory records and documentation.
  • Wastewater Operations: Observe, test, and adjust chemical usage based on wastewater testing results.
  • Grease Recovery Room Operations: Manage the daily operation, cleaning, and maintenance of the grease recovery room equipment and processes to maximize efficiency and byproduct yield.
  • Perform daily and weekly preventive maintenance (PM) requirements on all utility and wastewater/GRR equipment.
  • Read and utilize equipment manuals to facilitate repairs and maintenance.
  • General Facility Support: Execute basic duties in plumbing, carpentry, and pipefitting. Assist with general building upkeep and maintenance.
  • Perform other related and unrelated duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school, six months to one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts (e.g., chemical dosages, flow rates).
  • Acute attention to detail is essential.
  • Must be able to perform duties in various environments, including work requiring ladders, overhead tasks, and exposure to inside/outside, hot/cold, and noisy conditions.
  • Ability to use and maintain basic hand tools.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards in all work performed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic welding and fabrication are a plus.
  • Forklift operation and safety certification is required or must be obtained shortly after hiring.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Work is performed in a manufacturing and office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Must be able to lift 50lb and must have knowledge of computers and be proficient in word and Excel.
