Job description

Under general supervision, perform beginning level engineering work in the operation and maintenance of a major wastewater treatment plant or pump stations.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide technical assistancein the installation, operation, maintenance, modification, modernization and protection of physical facilities and equipment in a pump station
  • Assist in prioritizing major system modifications within overall District Capital Improvement plan
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering activities such as contractual engineering services, facility modifications, equipment selection, procurement and construction
  • Prepare specification and plans for engineering contracts,purchases of equipment and services
  • Use & maintain data in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for equipment and buildings at a pump station facilities
  • Maintain records and prepare reports
  • Perform reliability engineering and root cause failure analysis as directed
  • Perform process optimization and efficiency analysis for utilities, chemical usages, pumping systems,etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual O&M budget
Additional Responsibilities:

Performs related work as required or as delegated by supervisor.
