The Smart Factory Analyst is part of the Flexible Sheet Metal Processing group at the TRUMPF Smart Factory. Besides knowledge in customer and sheet metal processes, the Smart Factory Analyst analyzes customer processes to develop optimization strategies related to material flow, logistics and software. The TRUMPF Smart Factory Analyst develops and specifies viable machine, automation and software solutions together in collaboration with the Smart Factory Consultants.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer part files and current fabrication equipment in relation to sheet metal processing, material flow, intra-logistics and software

  • Analyze customer processes using the lean management and industrial engineering methods to improve direct/ indirect processes in fabrication

  • Work with consultants and customers on production concepts, software workflow and automation solutions

  • Assists sales network by analyzing and identifying customer improvement potentials and defining smart factory solutions

  • Act as a direct channel of communication between Consulting & Automation team and the Project Management and Engineering teams to ensure smooth project execution

  • Work with customers to create Sales Concepts and ensure fit of the new equipment on the customer's shop floor

  • Maintain centralized database of concept layouts and drawings to ensure easy and quick access for regional sales and consulting teams

  • Participate in transmittal meeting to ensure seamless transition of new order to project management and delivery team

  • Self-driven and motivated individual / expected travel of 50%

Experience

Two + years experience in technical sales and or application function in the manufacturing industry. Industrial Engineering degree or relevant experience in process analysis, lean manufacturing or data analytics. Applicant should have a background in fabrication industry with CNC machine tool experience. Detailed knowledge in sheet metal manufacturing. Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience. Expert knowledge in process analysis, lean management, six sigma and continuous improvement. Detailed knowledge on manufacturing solutions and machinery (also outside the TRUMPF portfolio). Detailed knowledge in sheet metal manufacturing. Strong presentation and customer communication skills. Methodical knowledge in Process optimization and lean methods. High affinity for digital solutions and software. Excellent Excel analytical skills.

Pay Range: $73,710 - $107,635
