Position Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is the overall responsibility of both new and used car departments, their respective managers, their functions, and act as liaison to the factory representatives.

Core Responsibilities

Responsibilities described in this section are fundamental to success in this position.

  • Develop, delegate implementation of, and maintain dealership sales system, consistent with philosophy of General Manager
  • Communicate compensation plans to sales managers, and help them maintain their focus' on variable gross, and concurrently variable expenses
  • Maintain clear communication between sales department managers
  • Establish, maintain, and merchandise proper mix of new cars and trucks, and rapid rate turning used car inventories
  • Develop focused sales promotions for dealership based on factory incentives, special auction purchases, or seasonal changes in the marketplace
  • Act as sounding board for concerns sales managers may have that are not resolvable with their limits of power
  • Monitor, maintain, and exceed manufacturers' expectations of market penetration
  • Assist sales managers and sales staff in maintaining a continuous customer contact strategy
  • Recognize and resolve all sales problems with the dealer's philosophy in mind
  • Report to the General Manager any problems, irregularities, or suspicions discovered through day-to-day observation
  • Ensure personal continuing education in product knowledge and management skills
  • Take an active role in both Corporate and Community activities
  • Uses personal device to provide an additional layer of security for company network and site access through multi-factor authentication.
  • Enforce safety precautions specific to work area
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

The requirements listed below are the minimum degrees, certifications, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of this position.

  • High School Education
  • 2 years prior experience in New Car sales and F&I and a minimum of 2 years experience as a Used Car Manager
  • Valid driver's license without restrictions that affects your ability to operate company owned vehicle(s) and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
