POSITION SUMMARY:


We are currently seeking a Factory Manager in our Medford, WI Pizza facility reporting to the Vice President of Manufacturing. The Medford facility is the proud home of Tombstone Pizza-an iconic brand with deep roots in Wisconsin and a loyal following across the United States.  This is a hands-on role in a mid-sized factory with 300-350 employees. There are seven total production lines and can produce up to 230 million pizzas per year; As the Factory Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the factory to sustainable high performance in alignment with the requirements of the business as defined in the Operational Master Plan.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Plan, organize and lead the factory team to achieve the agreed objectives (safety, environment, quality, cost and service). Proactively drive focused improvement.
  • Instill a medium-long term vision of the factory aligned with needs of the customer, consumer and business.
  • Ensure the factory meets expected results in a sustainable way.  
  • Ensure adherence to all Company principles and policies as well as local laws and regulations. Ensure compliance to health, food safety and regulatory requirements of all products manufactured.
  • Ensure development of factory management team and staff through performance management, career development, succession planning and coaching. Ensure that this is reflected by other managers within the factory.
  • A strong team that has the skills and competencies to perform effectively.
  • Ongoing coaching and necessary training are delivered.
  • Collaborate with peer factory managers to share best practices, liaise with Market Technical & Production functions, Research & Development / Applications Groups and Supply Chain to drive continuous improvement. 
  • Ensure smooth operations by effectively managing and monitoring internal and external relations within the Employee population, with Industrial Relations, and all Community entities. Build and maintain positive community relations through active representation and engagement.
  • Ensure the full implementation of all aspects of Continuous Improvement.  Implement Total Performance Management (TPM) on all lines according to a structured and agreed plan by the Chief Technical Officer.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Undergraduate degree in Food Science, Engineering or related fields.  
  • Exposure to implementing and using TPM, prefer 2 years.
  • Ten (10) years of production experience, including as a line manager, with demonstrated capability to lead a larger group of people, with successful experience in leading change or implementation of major change (new processes, start up, expansion, introduction of new system), and experiences in different environments (other sites, projects, or expatriation).

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. 
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of factory related and overall company cost structure.
  • Focused, proactive, high integrity, and able to make difficult decisions.  
  • Proven leadership, management and conflict resolution skills.  
  • Excellent judgment and analytical skills.
