As a remote-based position within our detox center, the LICSW will work closely with clients from various locations in Massachusetts. The flexibility of remote work allows for a balance of counseling and assessments with the dynamic needs of clients. Typical working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the possibility of occasional evening or weekend hours to accommodate client needs. Strong communication and technological proficiency will be essential as you connect with clients via phone, video conferencing, and electronic health records (EHR) systems.

• Conduct in-depth assessments of clients' psychosocial needs, factoring in emotional, mental, and social components.
• Collaborate with clients to develop personalized care plans that address their individual recovery goals and preferences.
• Provide ongoing counseling and emotional support, helping clients and their families effectively manage transitions related to detox and recovery.
• Advocate for clients' rights, ensuring they have access to necessary community resources and services.
• Work closely with an interdisciplinary team—comprising nurses, caregivers, and psychologists—to coordinate an integrated approach to client care.
• Perform regular check-ins with clients, monitoring their progress and adjusting care plans based on real-time feedback and evolving needs.
• Educate clients and their support systems about available resources and programs to promote social engagement and overall quality of life.
• Maintain accurate documentation for client assessments, care plans, and progress notes in the EHR system.
• Stay updated on the latest practices and policies in the field of social work to ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards.

This position primarily focuses on seniors who are navigating the complexities of detox and recovery from substance use. Understanding the unique challenges this demographic faces, including potential co-occurring mental health issues, is essential to providing effective support. • A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
• Active licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Massachusetts.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a social work capacity, ideally focusing on substance use or geriatric populations.
• Strong knowledge base of social work principles, community resources, and issues related to aging and addiction.
• Exceptional communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills, particularly in high-stress situations.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport and trust with clients and their families.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and basic computer applications is essential.
