Job description

WORK OBJECTIVE The Facilities Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and supervising the maintenance, repair, and operation of municipal, commercial, or institutional facilities. This position oversees maintenance personnel, custodial services, warehouse operations, preventive maintenance, capital improvement projects, contractor services, and facility compliance. The incumbent ensures that all facilities, equipment, and grounds are maintained in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

To view full job description, please click on the job title: Facilities Maintenance Superintendent MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field is required. Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, public works, or a related field, including at least three (3) years of supervisory experience. Thorough knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, building maintenance, custodial operations, warehouse management, sanitation operations, and preventive maintenance practices.

Experience administering Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), inventory management systems, and computerized work order systems. Knowledge of contract administration, procurement and purchasing procedures, budgeting, project management, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, construction plans, engineering drawings, and applicable codes and regulations.

Proficient in the use of computers and standard business software, including Microsoft Office applications. Possess and maintain National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification at the level required for the position or obtain the required certification within one (1) year of employment. Must have a valid Florida driver's license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
