SUMMARY:
The Facility Engineer will assist the Facility Manager and Engineering team with the planning, maintenance and implementation of the facility, office, and production lines. Assist in maximizing the use of available space and improving production efficiency by coordinating initiatives with both production and engineering teams. Research production/processing equipment or fixtures for purchase and gather data relating to their ability to meet the organization's needs. Manages preventative maintenance program for the facility and equipment within. Ensures that established efficiency and safety targets are met through machine uptime and reliability. Responsible for supporting proper hazardous waste handling, transportation, and disposal.
Reports to: Facilities Manager
ESSENTIAL TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies throughout the facility
  • Manage the Preventative Maintenance Program
  • Coordinate and schedule all external preventative maintenance activities with vendors
  • Collaborate with vendors for competitive bids
  • Maintains inventory levels of perishable tooling
  • Order equipment, tooling, and machinery
  • Support manufacturing cost-reduction initiatives
  • Determine required parts, tools, and resources to support manufacturing objectives
  • Assist maintenance in troubleshooting electrical/mechanical issues
  • Support training efforts related to new equipment and processes
  • Provide direct support to Production and Maintenance departments
  • Support new product line start-ups
  • R&D of equipment, processes and materials
  • Assist in tooling design
  • Maintains cleanliness of facility and grounds
  • Collaborate with local IT department on facility/ IT projects
  • Complete annual RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) training
  • Maintain DOT certification for 49 CFR 172.704(a)
  • Periodic inspections of the Chemical Room to confirm handling, storage, and labeling compliance
  • Must maintain a subscription to the FederalRegister.gov for notification of Code of Federal Regulations
  • Knowledge of 3D printing equipment and 3D printing applications
  • Knowledge of CAD software

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree or any combination of education with 3-5 years equivalent experience in similar role within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter and have a high level of accountability
  • Upbeat and energized to complete tasks with a positive attitude
  • Must work well under pressure and have a strong attention to detail
  • Must be willing to learn and practice all safety procedures as safety is our highest value
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Minimal travel required during initial training period
