Job Title: Facilities & Operations Supervisor

Department: Operations / Building Maintenance

Reports to: Director of Operations

Effective Date: April 6, 2026

FLSA: Non-Exempt


Job Summary:

The Facilities & Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of SCC facilities across multiple locations. This role ensures that all buildings, properties, and equipment are safe, functional, and well-maintained by performing preventative maintenance, responding to service requests, and coordinating the work of custodial staff, vendors, contractors, and community service workers.


This position also supports the operational oversight of SCCโ€™s food program, including coordination of food procurement, inventory management, storage, and safety practices.


This role combines hands-on responsibilities with supervisory oversight and requires strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills to support SCCโ€™s operations in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and coordinates the daily work of custodial staff, maintenance assistants, and community service workers.
  • Provides task direction, monitors performance, and ensures completion of assigned duties.
  • Provides oversight and support to the Food Coordinator to ensure effective operations of the food program.
  • Tracks and documents the activity and time of Community Service Workers as assigned.
  • Provides input to the Director of Operations regarding staff performance, scheduling, and operational needs.

Facilities Maintenance & Repairs:

  • Perform and/or oversee general maintenance and repairs for building systems, equipment, and facilities.
  • Oversee interior and exterior maintenance of SCC properties across multiple locations.
  • Ensure maintenance and repair work is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Preventative Maintenance & Inspections:

  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems.
  • Identify maintenance needs and ensure preventative maintenance schedules are followed.
  • Monitor building conditions to proactively address issues before they escalate.

Work Orders & Operations:

  • Receive, prioritize, and complete maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Track and document work orders, repairs, and completed tasks using SCC systems.
  • Follow up on open work orders to ensure resolution.

Vendor & Contractor Coordination:

  • Coordinate and oversee work performed by external vendors and contractors.
  • Ensure quality, timeliness, and adherence to SCC standards.
  • Assist with obtaining estimates and managing project timelines.

Food Program Operations & Oversight:

  • Support the day-to-day operational needs of SCCโ€™s food program, including kitchen coordination and facility-related needs.
  • Provide oversight and support to the Food Coordinator to ensure effective food procurement, storage, and distribution processes.
  • Monitor food inventory levels and assist in establishing systems for tracking, ordering, and storage.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable food safety standards, including proper storage, handling, labeling, and disposal of food items.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety within kitchen and food storage areas.
  • Coordinate with vendors, food banks, and partners related to food procurement and delivery logistics.
  • Identify and address operational gaps related to food management, inventory control, and waste reduction.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Maintain knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and proper handling of materials and chemicals.
  • Identify and address safety hazards within facilities and surrounding areas.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and organizational policies.
  • Support emergency response efforts related to facility issues when needed.

Inventory & Supplies:

  • Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and materials.
  • Submit orders for supplies and ensure proper storage and usage.

Customer Service & Environment:

  • Interact professionally and respectfully with staff, clients, and visitors.
  • Support a safe, clean, and welcoming environment across all SCC locations.
  • Work effectively in a trauma-informed environment serving justice-involved individuals.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintenance budgeting and cost tracking as needed.
  • Travel between SCC locations as required.
  • May be required to respond to urgent maintenance needs outside of regular business hours.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $50,000 to $60,000 annually, based on experience

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time, non-exempt position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Overtime may be required based on operational needs and must be approved in advance by the Director of Operations.
Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • General knowledge of building systems and maintenance trades.

  • Knowledge and safe use of power tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety standards and inventory management practices preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of maintenance, facilities, or operations experience required.
  • Prior experience overseeing or coordinating staff preferred.
  • Experience supporting inventory systems, logistics, or food operations preferred.
  • Current Colorado Driverโ€™s License required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, bend, and work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
