The Opportunity with McKinstry
We are looking for an Assistant Superintendent to be a part of our Energy division in Bozeman, MT. The Assistant Superintendent will ensure project success through on-site management of subcontractors, field documentation, and maintenance of client relationships. Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include:
  • Acts as the onsite face of McKinstry; develops and updates project schedules and manages jobsite set up and tear down logistics
  • Approves daily work tickets, reviews submittals, and develops RFIs to document scope changes
  • Schedules and coordinates subcontractors and vendors; assists in writing scopes of work and supports Project Manager bid procurement
  • Manages and closes out punch list activity in a timely manner; maintains daily logs and required project documentation
  • Acts as conduit of communication between client and subcontractors; resolves subcontractor disputes and ensures client concerns are resolved promptly
  • Upholds McKinstry safety standards; hosts and documents Weekly Safety meetings and coordinates with the Safety team on the site safety plan

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry
  • OSHA 30 certification required
  • Working knowledge of Procore and Bluebeam required; proficiency with Microsoft Project required; familiarity with Primavera P6 preferred
  • Knowledge of construction management, the commercial building process, and OSHA standards required
  • Experience with, or strong working knowledge of, renewable energy and decarbonization project delivery (solar, battery storage, electrification, building commissioning) preferred given McKinstry's DER portfolio
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Procore, Microsoft Suite including Project and Planner required; working knowledge of Planisware and Vista Viewpoint preferred
  • Four (4) years of leadership of trades and job sites preferred
  • BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or Facilities Management, or equivalent work experience, preferred

The pay range for this position is $33.32 - $47.34 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is considered non-exempt and will be paid hourly. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
