SAIC is seeking aย Manufacturing Engineer Internย to join in and support our team inย Indianapolis, IN facility.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
You will be working in a dynamic environment to support manufacturing on engineering issues.ย ย You will be supporting multiple Navy/Army/Air Force projects of various scales.ย ย You will hone your teamwork skills and gain engineering experience in engineering drawings and manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM)
As an engineering team member, you will:
- Evaluate drawings and technical documents around specific systems. This will require direction from engineering project leads.
- Understand and use military and/or commercial specifications in manufacturing to disposition non-conformances of parts.
- Create deviations for approval and engineering change recommendations to drawings.
- Work with Quality Assurance and Logistics teams to determine actions to meet schedules and timelines
- Act as a liaison between design engineering and logistics for production.
- Support implementation of manufacturing bills of materials for procurement and engineering
- Participate in weekly meetings
- Ability to work well within a fast paced, team environment.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- HS and two (2) or more years of college coursework in a technical field, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Knowledge and ability to interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials / parts list.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software.
