Job description

Overview Chipotle Mexican Grill is a leader in the food industry committed to providing responsibly sourced, realโ€food meals to guests worldwide. The company is seeking a Facilities Specialist to maintain restaurants through preventative maintenance and repairs. Responsibilities Assist the Facilities Manager and supervise facility aspects of restaurant management at the market level. Perform facility maintenance and repair through monthly site visits and analysis of restaurants. Formulate preventative maintenance schedules for safe, efficient operation of restaurant facilities, including cooking equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical circuits and refrigeration units. Respond to facility failures or safety threats by following established procedures. Train managers, crew and other staff on maintenance, troubleshooting and repair; assess training needs individually. Ensure consistent adherence to maintenance practices and procedures across all restaurant teams. Conduct detailed maintenance and repair seminars on an individual or group basis. Provide the Operations Team and Regional Facility Manager with detailed maintenance visit recaps and identify costโ€driving issues. Provide guidance on maintaining and updating facility records. Execute routine equipment and building repairs, including emergency work and scheduled site visits. Perform newโ€store turnover, 90โ€day and oneโ€year walkโ€throughs with Contractors and Operations teams. Act as liaison between restaurants, landlords, contractors and vendors when repairs are required. Help the Operations Team analyze and determine escalation of facility issues to the Regional Facilities Manager. Represent facilities at operations management meetings and communicate information back to subโ€levels. Support the Development Department on regional and market initiatives related to facilities. Assist in communicating contractor deficiencies on reinvestment or repair projects. Complete additional duties to advance projects or resolve business issues as needed. Qualifications Strong trade knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, commercial cooking equipment, appliance repair, and basic HVAC/refrigeration. Knowledge of rules and regulations governing facility safety requirements. Ability to manage and coordinate multiple schedules, planning work to meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills for teaching maintenance concepts. Valid Motor Vehicle Report to travel between restaurants, with compliance to safe driving laws. B.A./B.S. in a related field or equivalent education and experience; at least two (2) years of formal or informal training in facility repair and maintenance, preferably in restaurant equipment or related systems.
