Jefferson Elementary School is seeking a dependable and student-focused High Needs Intensive Special Education Paraprofessional to support teachers and students in the classroom. This role includes supporting students with a range of academic and behavioral needs, including providing guidance, structure, and support during challenging moments. If you enjoy working with children and want to help create a positive learning environment, this is a great opportunity to make an impact.
What You'll Do:
  • Assist teachers with preparing and delivering instructional materials and activities
  • Support implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under teacher direction
  • Provide intensive instructional, behavioral, and safety support for a student whose Individualized Education Program (IEP), Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP), health plan, or unique educational needs require dedicated adult assistance.
  • Support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs under the direction of certified staff
  • Assist with behavior support strategies and help maintain a safe, structured environment
  • Distribute and organize classroom supplies and instructional resources
  • Maintain records and assist with grading and reports
  • Help keep the classroom neat, organized, and engaging
  • Monitor and report any student safety concerns

This position works closely with the educational team to support student learning, safety, and participation throughout the school day.
