Location: Lynchburg, VA
Shift: night shift ; Monday - Friday 4:30pm - 3am ; Sat 4:30pm - 11am
Type: contract-to-hire

Our client is a full-service structural steel fabricator that excels in safely and seamlessly building complex projects on time and on budget. Serving clients throughout the East Coast in various end markets including office towers, event centers, stadiums, airports, healthcare, education, data centers, transportation, and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Must have experience using plasma and oxygen fuel.
- Knowledge of operation the operation of a CNC machine
- Follow safe operating and lifting procedures for overhead cranes
- Operate forklifts according to safe operating procedures
- Bring in and remove various sizes, thickness and shapes of steel parts.
- Maintains safe operations of all machines by adhering to company and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements
- Monitor the machine to ensure that it is running at maximum performance
- Detect and report all machine malfunctions
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs
- Adjust machine as needed
- Other duties as assigned

- One (1) year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred but will train if necessary
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, write and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Possess basic computer skills
- Experience using hand-measurement tools is preferred
- Experience operating CNC machines is preferred
- Accurately read a tape line
- High School diploma/GED required
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to constantly work in various indoor and outdoor conditions including hot and cold temperatures, dust and noisy conditions.
- Must be able to lift a maximum weight up to 20 lbs. frequently; 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be able to carry a maximum weight up to 20 lbs. frequently; 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching forward, balancing, feeling, object handling, simple hand grasping, firm hand grasping, and operating controls will be required.
- Regular sitting, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching overhead, stooping, and crouching will be required.
- Must be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
