Job description

Join Henderson Products Inc., located in Manchester, IA! We are the North American leader in the design, manufacture and up fit of multi-purpose equipment for heavy-duty work trucks specializing in snow and ice control and “Keeping America’s Roads Safe!”

AVAILABLE SHIFTS:

  • 8:00 PM - 5:00 AM (Monday - Thursday) and 8:00 PM - 12:00 AM (Friday)
  • 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Monday - Thursday) and 9:00 PM - 1:00 AM (Friday)
  • 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Monday - Thursday) and 10:00 PM - 2:00 AM (Friday)

Please Note: This is a newly created shift with flexible start times. Employees will work four 9-hour days, Monday through Thursday, and 4 hours on Friday for a standard 40-hour workweek. Depending on the start time of shift, additional overtime hours may be available on Fridays for those interested up until 2:00 AM

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE: As a Fabricator/Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the set up and operation of fabrication machines (Brake Press, Lasers, Drills, Saws) in accordance with established standard operating procedures (SOP) and guidelines. Fabricators must have the ability to understand blueprints to fabricate parts to blueprint specifications using the appropriate machine and process. Performs designated maintenance functions, assumes ownership for quality, participates in training, performs daily 5S activities, works as a team, and maintains all safety standards.

  • Set up and operate fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Produce quality parts that meet daily production requirements.
  • Utilize blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to manufacture quality products.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to fabricate parts to specification.
  • Apply basic shop math and accurately use a tape measure and protractor.
  • Identify various types and gauges of steel.
  • Operate assigned equipment within a designated functional area.
  • Operate overhead hoists and material-handling equipment safely.
  • Monitor quality standards and support scrap reduction initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively, timely, and professionally with team members and supervisors.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental and production goals.
  • Maintain established housekeeping and 5S standards.
  • Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Work overtime as needed to meet production demands.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Graduate of trade school, preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to continuously lift/push up to 50 lbs.
  • Continuous bending, lifting, and standing
  • Exposure to noise and weld and grinding smoke at times
