Job description

Position Summary

This position requires a service-oriented individual to complete work assignments and customer orders regarding fabrication needs for equipment. They must be able to complete a variety of projects- small to large size and be able to work out in the field as business needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Correctly produce or recondition components for Customer orders.
  • Review instructions, drawings, manufacturing information, and hand drawn layout request. Closely follow established procedures for completing jobs to ensure quality and accuracy of parts produced.
  • Receive and carry out work assignments from management and internal customers in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner.
  • Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goal Keep assigned work-area clean, organized, and orderly.
  • Demonstrate a continual effort to streamline work processes.
  • Work with team members and/or department to effectively complete work assignment as assigned.
  • Able to listen, retain, and execute directions as given by local leadership.
  • Observe all company, state and federal safety policies and procedures; observes and follows all company (operational) policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area; Observe all company, local, and federal safety rules, location and company best practices, and company policies and procedures.
  • Mentor and/or coach Fab Tech I’s as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience and 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of various safety standards such as OSHA and any state safety standards
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as NETA, OSHA, IEEE and NFPA
  • Proven mechanical skills and/or experience with different types of low and high voltage equipment (requirement varies on location).
  • Able to effectively problem solve.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, looking up information, and/or creating reports.
  • Able to communicate oral and written communication skills; follow directions-written direction, oral direction, reading work orders and/or specs as assigned; work in a team environment and communicate with team, various departments, and/or Customers as business needs dictate.
  • Customer Focused-able to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects, and produce a quality work product
  • Having had experience with Bussing Mechanical skills, Breaker retrofit and retro fill is a plus
  • For positions that utilize a company vehicle, will be required to have a valid driver’s license.

Additional Information:

Job: Full-Time

Location: Tracy, CA

Travel: 0-5%

Compensation: $25-$32/Hr.
