Position Overview

Fabric inspector inspects manufactured components, ready-made solar fabric to ensure compliance with quality standards and to identify defects or deviations from specifications and in order to classify them according to their quality.
Hours of work โ€“This is a Night Shift position with 12-hour shifts from 8pm to 4am. The normal work hours for this position are 12 hour rotating shifts. Overtime might be required.

What you'll do

  • Inspect โ€“ Look, measure allowance, trim threads for various sizes and quantity of products following production orders and proper inspecting procedures.
  • Identify and set aside any fabric deviation, flaw, hole, shade, or workmanship defect.
  • Load and sew fabric onto the inspection frame with a tugger.
  • Must be able to maintain and understand quality requirements for each piece.
  • Material labeling โ€“ Appropriately mark, identify, and label all pieces as required and enter information into a data base.
  • Pre-wrap the rolls after being inspecting.
  • Daily cleanliness task of area and tools โ€“ Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
  • Inspect and complete all paperwork for fabric and prepare for shipping.
  • Inspect and complete all paperwork for fabric and prepare for shipping. Record readings for inspections and download into computer, will be responsible for entering timely and accurate data in the database.
  • 12 hours shifts. You will be expected to stand for extended periods of time. This is not a sit-down position.
  • All other duties as assigned

Who you are

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1-2 years experience working in a similar position / environment 
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Have the ability to manage your time
  • Ability to lift, carry, and/or move up to 30 lbs. 
  • Ability to frequently stand, forward reach, and lift as needed
  • Have the ability to work in an environment where the temperature varies in range
