Job Summary

Provide technical and applications support to customers and distributors in the region to ensure that our products produce the results that our customers expect; Demonstrate sensor & software capabilities on customer tools to promote product benefits; Conduct technical training & tradeshow support

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for applications and service in North America, providing expert applications advice as well as technical service support to our customers and distributors

  • Understand customers' applications requirements, develop suitable solutions, and make appropriate recommendations to achieve their desired outcomes

  • Conduct applications and equipment demonstrations on-site and in the applications lab. Generate technical summary reports in support of pre- and post-sales activities

  • Interface with customers in a professional manner to understand their applications issues and make appropriate suggestions to fulfil their needs

  • Conduct applications training both in-house and on-site at customer locations

  • Support the set-up, inspection, and testing of new equipment at customer locations to ensure proper installation.

  • Provide technical support, training, and advice to customers and distributors on the use and maintenance of equipment

  • Establish preventative maintenance schedules with customer

  • Other duties as required by management, including travel and support outside home region

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma of Engineering in Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical or Materials Engineering

  • 2 - 3 years' experience in the electronics manufacturing or Semiconductor fab environment, or supplier experience as a process or equipment engineer preferred

  • Confident communicator - work closely with high level customers and present to large audiences

  • Ability to work independently and remotely

  • Team player who will proactively draw on various resources in the organization to achieve objectives

  • Analytical mind and ability to consider the big picture.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Good at both oral and written English

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and motivational skills.

  • Aptitude for mechanical, chemical, electronic and software technology

  • Analytical and detail oriented

  • Proactive and aggressive in business, self-driven and result oriented.

  • Self-motivated, with strong sense of integrity, responsibility and accountability;

  • Open minded and willing to learn

  • Able to travel and work across North America

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment

  • Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking, standing, lifting & carrying heavy materials (up to 50 lbs)

  • Hybrid (office, WFH, and customer site)

Travel Required

  • Domestic 60%

  • International 10%

Base Salary Range for this position is: $85,000 to $110,000 annually/per hour, and bonus target is 3%; shift premium may be available depending on shift associated with the specific job opportunity. Benefits include Medical, Rx, Vision, Dental, and Health Savings Account (HSA), Retirement and Security benefits including 401k and Life Insurance. In addition to Paid Time Off and paid Holidays, each employee receives 16 hours paid time each calendar year to perform volunteer services for Nordson-sponsored events. The base pay range for this job level is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, business considerations, and local market conditions, as well as candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, and skills
