Job description

The Senior Quality Engineer performs all aspects required for proper evaluation and resolution of quality related matters and technical issues that may arise during manufacturing and maintenance of turbine engine components, and to support activities related to quality system requirements compliance. Develop, track, and provide statistical analysis, reports, and metrics for quality related activities. 

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications and confer with engineering staff to determine quality standards.
  • Prepare corrective action responses, Auditing over various departments, 8D problem solving for permanent corrective actions, and lead problem solving activities.
  • Manage internal and external customer drawings and specifications.
  • Demonstrate and deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring timely release of control of configuration management documents, responses, and data.
  • Provide technical support to both internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards.
  • Actively support Cost-Out, Scrap/Rework reduction & improved First Pass Yield site goals and objectives
  • Support daily production shipments to internal and external customers

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, aerospace, or another related field) is required
  • 5+ years relevant work experience as a quality engineer, aerospace industry preferred
  • Six Sigma green belt with real world project experience is preferred
  • 8D, or root cause analysis experience using statistical analysis tools
  • Certification process experience (i.e., ISO9001:2008, AS9100/9110) FAA Part 145, FAA Part 21, CAAC, CAA, Military
  • Knowledge of QDAS system.
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Minitab, Microsoft PowerPoint,
  • Knowledge of GD&T, OEM Customer Portals (Siemens, Rolls Royce, Safran, etc.) is preferred
  • AS13001/AS9117 Delegated Product Release Verification Training Certification Preferred
