Hybrid 2 days - Weds and Thurs in Anaheim, CA

Our client seeks an Enterprise System Administrator II to deliver planning, coordination, and implementation for member-facing systems. The role will provide technical support across Microsoft server environments, design and integration for VMware and Hyper-V, Active Directory, Exchange hybrid, storage provisioning, scripting for automation, and performance monitoring. The position reports to the Director of Production Systems and will drive key projects that enhance delivery channels, security, and operational reliability.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $60.00 to $70.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Design, install, configure, and deploy internal and member-facing servers across Development, Staging, Production, and Disaster Recovery environments.
  • Provide technical support and perform system integration for Microsoft Server environments.
  • Administer VMware, vSphere, ESXi, resource pools, and storage architecture technologies.
  • Plan and execute projects that advance capabilities for member-facing delivery channels.
  • Support Active Directory, DNS, and Exchange in hybrid on-prem and cloud configurations.
  • Provision and troubleshoot storage including EMC, VMAX, and Pure, including zoning.
  • Automate tasks using PowerShell and Bash.
  • Proactively manage and maintain server infrastructure and F5 load balancers.
  • Handle domain name registration and SSL certificate procurement and maintenance.
  • Implement monitoring, configuration management, and reporting for a hands-off environment.
  • Develop project plans, risk assessments, and contingency plans.
  • Define and document best practices and support procedures.
  • Provide after-hours support for infrastructure emergencies on a rotational basis.
  • Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation.
  • Assist with hardware, firewall, telecom, and software vendor evaluations and negotiations.
  • Mentor and cross-train team members on existing and emerging technologies.
  • Interact with users and vendors at the technical level.
  • Provide routine data backup and recovery support.
  • Participate in system hardware migrations and upgrade projects.
  • Support servers across multiple data centers.
  • Plan server changes to prevent or resolve issues.
  • Serve as an escalation point for server software and hardware break/fix and coordinate with vendors and support teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements:
  • Five or more years of experience in systems administration.
  • VMware engineering and design expertise.
  • Active Directory, DNS management, and troubleshooting in hybrid on-prem and Azure AD environments.
  • Exchange hybrid administration and troubleshooting.
  • Storage provisioning and troubleshooting with EMC, VMAX, and Pure, including zoning.
  • PowerShell and Bash scripting to automate operational tasks.
  • Knowledge of MS Office 365, Hyper-V, SQL, web, email filtering, endpoint protection, and F5 load balancing.
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of network security.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP networking and general network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Windows clustering planning and implementation and Hyper-V implementation.
  • Exposure to performance monitoring solutions such as Dynatrace preferred.
  • Experience managing F5 virtual servers preferred.
  • Ability to work in a primarily Windows environment with some Linux.
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills including technical writing.
  • Self-starter who is proactive and able to work independently.
