Who We Are
F45 Training Midtown Phoenix is a high-energy, community-driven boutique fitness studio focused on delivering an exceptional training experience every time a member walks through our doors.
Our coaches are at the center of that experience. They create the energy in the room, build meaningful relationships with members, provide safe and effective coaching, and help create the sense of community that keeps members coming back.
We are looking for an energetic, knowledgeable, organized, and charismatic Head Trainer to lead our coaching team and own the overall member training experience.
The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, comfortable leading others, and capable of operating independently. This person should take pride in maintaining high standards, identifying opportunities to improve the member experience, and taking ownership of results rather than waiting for direction.
About the Role
The Head Trainer serves as the leader of the studio's coaching team and plays a critical role in member experience, retention, community engagement, and studio culture.
In addition to coaching F45 classes, the Head Trainer will recruit, onboard, develop, and manage our team of coaches; ensure consistent delivery of a best-in-class boutique fitness experience; monitor member engagement and retention; help optimize the class schedule; and lead community-building initiatives both inside and outside of the studio.
This role is ideal for an experienced fitness professional who enjoys coaching but is also ready to take on greater leadership and ownership within a growing fitness business.
What You'll Own
  • Coach Leadership: Recruit, onboard, schedule, develop, and manage our team of coaches while maintaining high standards for performance, professionalism, and member engagement.
  • Best-in-Class Class Experience: Set the standard for coaching quality, energy, safety, cleanliness, and execution to consistently deliver a premium boutique fitness experience.
  • Class Schedule Management: Manage the member class schedule, monitor attendance and utilization trends, and recommend schedule changes based on member demand and business performance.
  • Member Retention: Monitor member engagement and class utilization, proactively reaching out to low-utilization or at-risk members to improve engagement and reduce preventable churn.
  • Member Community: Build strong relationships with members and create an inclusive, connected studio culture that keeps people engaged and excited to return.
  • Community Events: Own studio events, challenges, member socials, and local community activations that deepen member relationships and increase studio awareness.
  • Social Media Engagement: Drive an active and authentic social presence by capturing and coordinating content that showcases our members, coaches, workouts, events, and culture.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve the coaching team, member experience, studio operations, and overall performance, and proactively bring recommendations to studio leadership.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a personal trainer, group fitness coach, or similar fitness professional.
  • Previous leadership, Head Trainer, Lead Coach, or team management experience strongly preferred.
  • Current nationally recognized Personal Training or Group Fitness Certification.
  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification.
  • Strong knowledge of biomechanics, exercise physiology, movement mechanics, and exercise modification.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with members and create community.
  • Comfortable hiring, developing, providing feedback to, and holding team members accountable.
  • Organized and capable of managing schedules, multiple priorities, and recurring responsibilities independently.
  • Proactive problem solver who identifies opportunities for improvement and takes initiative.
  • Reliable, punctual, and highly attentive to detail.
  • Passionate about health, fitness, coaching, and helping others achieve their goals.
  • Comfortable engaging with members through phone, text, social media, and in-person communication.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional community events.

Benefits
  • Competitive pay of $28-$35/hour based on experience.
  • Performance-based incentive opportunities tied to studio performance and results.
  • Free membership at F45 Training Midtown Phoenix for you and a significant other or immediate family member.
  • Opportunity to lead and develop a talented coaching team.
  • Meaningful ownership over the studio's member experience, retention, and community.
  • Fun, supportive, and high-energy team environment.
  • Opportunity to grow professionally with a community-focused boutique fitness studio.

Compensation: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
