Job description

MECHANIC โ€“ US POGO MINE

Webdrill is a respected provider of underground drilling services, known for our commitment to safety, reliability, and performance in remote operations. We specialize in supporting exploration at challenging sites like Pogo Mine in Alaska, using a fleet that includes Epiroc diamond drill rigs and Ford F250 support vehicles.

We're currently seeking a dedicated and experienced mechanic to join our team at Pogo. If you're confident working in remote conditions and enjoy hands-on work with high-end equipment, we'd like to hear from you. We have opened our applicant pool to include LV Mechanics with a strong desire to learn new skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical repairs and routine maintenance on Epiroc MCR diamond drill rigs
  • Service and maintain Ford F250 support vehicles used on-site
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in the field
  • Minimize equipment downtime through proactive inspections and fault diagnosis
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and parts logs
  • Ensure all work complies with mine site safety protocols and environmental standards
  • Assist with drill rig mobilization and demobilization as required
  • Operate and maintain a clean, organized field service truck
  • Collaborate with drill crews and site supervisors to support operational needs

Requirements

  • Relevant trade certification (e.g. Automotive or Diesel Mechanic)
  • Experience with Epiroc drill rigs (or similar) and Ford F250s โ€“ (Highly regarded)
  • Experience with Epiroc RCS automation - (Highly regarded)
  • Strong problem-solving and mechanical diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently in remote and challenging environments
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to work rotational shifts at a remote mine site
  • Strong commitment to safety and team communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in mining or exploration camps
  • Familiarity with Mine site requirements
  • 2+ years of experience with heavy equipment or drilling rig
  • 1+ years of experience working with hydraulic systems
