Job description

TITLE: Extrusion Technician C

 

POSITION OBJECTIVE: This position involves collaborating with fellow operators to conduct manufacturing tasks, ensuring the timely and efficient production of flexible products that meet customer specifications. Responsibilities include assisting in the setup and operation of thermoplastic extruders and related equipment to convert plastic resins into blown film for plastic sheeting and tubing. Additionally, the role entails supporting team members in executing operations according to established production standards to ensure the delivery of quality products.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Legal eligibility to work in the US
  • Two years of equivalent job experience in the extrusion discipline preferred
  • Forklift truck certification is a plus
  • Ability to operate a film extruder and related equipment
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of personnel
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English
  • Basic math skills including the capability to read a ruler and measure in US standards
  • Strong multitasking skills
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary such as overtime.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform a variety of duties related to the operation of a Film Extruder and auxiliary equipment.
  • Remove completed rolls from Winders, inspecting for defects, conducting quality checks, weighing, labeling, packaging, and recording production and scrap.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as changing screen packs, cleaning breaker plates, dies, nip rolls, treater rolls, reclaimers, resin filters, and idler rolls.
  • Operating various equipment including forklift trucks, platform trucks, overhead cranes, and hand tools as necessary.
  • Managing inventory and ensuring proper storage of materials.
  • Assisting Technicians with setups and changeovers, demonstrating a willingness to learn and advance.
  • Reporting any unusual conditions, equipment issues, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Maintaining equipment, keeping work are clean, orderly, and complying with safety standards.
  • Conducting required quality checks, completing associated forms accurately.
  • Perform visual inspections for defects during Web Checks.
  • Undertaking any other related duties as assigned.
