2nd Shift M-F 3PM-11PM $1.50 Shift differential

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for safely operating the extrusion press in order to produce aluminum extruded shapes that meet customer specifications, and for participating in 5S initiatives in the extrusion press area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished.

  • Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
  • Set up and run equipment safely and efficiently in order to maximize output while meeting customer quality requirements
  • Support the company’s key corporate values, objectives and strategies
  • Cross-train in as many functions in the department as possible
  • Understand and verify manufacturing orders in order to identify internal and customer specifications
  • Conduct all processes and procedures in accordance with department key measures
  • Ensure all quality practices are being followed accurately and efficiently
  • Keep work area clean and orderly using 5S system (standardize, sustain, sort, set in order and shine)
  • Meet delivery schedules to ensure customer service and satisfaction
  • Efficiently operate the extrusion press in order to maximize processes and operations
  • Analyze and monitor extrusion process data per process control plan and extrusion process sheets
  • Use log calculation to make billet adjustments
  • Set up and modify extrusion process sheets
  • Properly take and inspect samples at all operations of press cell according to customer required surface finish and tolerances
  • Make changes to the press schedule as necessary
  • Meet delivery schedules to ensure customer service and satisfaction
  • Perform general machine maintenance as necessary to keep equipment in a well maintained condition

  • Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent degree
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of manufacturing experience required
  • Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and production/inventory systems)
    • Ability to recognize safety concerns
    • Ability to utilize the proper inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools
    • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read die drawings and inspect parts and surface finish according to customer specifications
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment
  • Ability to perform and assist with preventive maintenance
  • Ability to properly identify materials
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Complete understanding of the age cycle and the effect it has on the material
  • Ability to use the overhead cranes and lift trucks
  • Understand all processes occurring before and after extrusion
  • Understand dedicated customer expectations in regards to on-time delivery and quality

The anticipated pay range for this position is $45,760.0-$59,488.00 annually- plus  Additional $1.50 an hour shift differential. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors include job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs and geographic location.
