Job description

Polymer Resources is seeking a Line Operator for a position based at our Farmington, CT facility.

At Polymer Resources, we compound Engineering Thermoplastic materials that are used in both Injection Molding and Profile Extrusion applications serving Medical, Automotive, Consumer, and Industrial markets. We specialize in producing Custom Colored products, and in providing materials with specific property profiles that meet needs of our customers. We are a service company that provides specialty plastics; and as a result, we have on time delivery rates greater than 99% with low returns and projected double-digit growth over the next three years.

Summary:

The line operator is part of the production team at Polymer Resources and will report to the shift supervisor. In this role the incumbent will operate extrusion equipment (both single and twin screw) and the sub systems in order to create custom engineering resin compounds. This includes setting up and changing over the lines between batches, operating pumps, blowers, pelletizers, and temperature controllers.

In addition to operating the lines the incumbent will be responsible for loading hoppers of material to feed the extruders, and to remove boxes of finished product from the line and keeping the work area clean. Also, the line operator is responsible for completing the proper documentation for each batch.

Essential Duties:

· Set up and change over extrusion lines

· Operate extrusion lines (single screw and twin screw) and the line sub systems

o Pumps, blowers, pelletizers, temperature controllers etc.

· Handle raw and finished goods

· Clean the work area

· Complete proper documentation for each batch

Required Skills:

· Ability to work with hand tools

· Ability to lift 50 lbs.

· Must be able to multi-task

· Ability to handle basic math functions

· Ability to follow written instructions

· Forklift operation (Certification a plus)

· Ability to work independently if needed

Skills Desired:

· Experience working in a manufacturing environment

· Extrusion experience: Twin-screw extruder experience helpful

· Proficiency with Microsoft office

· Will train motivated candidates
