Extreme MDs are medical doctors who specialize in providing emergency and critical care in extreme or challenging environments, such as disaster zones, remote locations, or during extreme sports events. They are trained to handle medical situations where conventional hospital resources are not available and often work with limited equipment. Extreme MDs must have a strong background in emergency medicine, wilderness medicine, and sometimes even military or expedition medicine. Their expertise is crucial in saving lives under harsh and unpredictable conditions.
