Deposit Operations Manager

Overview

The Deposit Operations Manager is a key leader in the overall operational function of the bank. The Deposit Operations Manager will oversee all deposit-related operational functions such as account onboarding and maintenance, wire transfer processing, ACH and check processing, debit card operations, regulatory compliance, and other deposit-related services. The Deposit Operations Manager ensures operational accuracy and will lead a team that provides an excellent level of service to customers, branches and other internal business partners.

Location listed is preferred office location but other locations and working remotely within the Renasant footprint may be considered based upon convenience and business necessity.

Responsibilities
    Lead day-to-day operations for all deposit operations team, including but not limited to:
    • Deposit account onboarding & maintenance
    • Wire Transfer processing
    • Debit card operations, including Reg E dispute processing
    • ACH and wire exceptions
    • Check processing and returns
    • Reconciliation of deposit operations-related accounts
    • Deposit document imaging
    • Subpoena, garnishment, and levy processing
  • Implement solutions that improve process efficiency and accuracy while reducing or eliminating manual processes
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations impacting Deposit Operations
  • Partner with IT, Compliance, Digital Banking, and other departments on system enhancements and automation initiatives
  • Support branches and internal teams with timely resolution of issues
  • Oversee vendor relationships for key deposit operations platforms
  • Develop efficiencies through the use of automation
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and adhere to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to achieve smooth operations
  • Ensure Deposit Operations maintains current job descriptions for all positions and ensures department managers within Deposit Operations provide leadership/development/training to all staff members
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of the bank's Core Provider systems/services that would be utilized by the sales teams that impact Deposit Operations.
  • Build a culture of transparency, respect, ownership, teamwork, ongoing communication, and continuous improvement
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Accounting, Finance or Business related degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of banking operations experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of leading deposit operations experience at a mid-large financial institution
  • Strong understanding of deposit account regulations, payment network rules, and operational risk controls
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives with overlapping deadlines and resources
  • Experience with core banking systems (FIS IBS preferred), item processing platforms, and workflow/automation tools
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to adapt to change with open mind in a dynamic work environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to travel including overnight travel. This may include the use of personal vehicle
