Job description

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the Warehouse Lead and Warehouse Personnel
  • Coordinate all warehouse activities, which include the receipt, storage, and shipping of materials to meet productivity goals, operating objectives, and warehouse maintenance functions
  • Prepare work schedules to include, but not limited to the following: work assignments/rotations, employee training, breaks, overtime assignments, and coverage for vacation/personal absences
  • Resourcefully and economically organize completion of day to day picking and loading
  • Collaborate with internal and external Clients and Customers to resolve discrepancies related to shipping, receiving, or inventory
  • Research errors and implement corrective actions
  • Assist in developing plans and programs for process improvement
  • Coordinate new and current employee training to include, but not limited to the following: personal safety, forklift safety, warehouse SOP’s and WI’s
  • Perform adjustments to daily work assignments as necessary during warehouse personnel shifts to operate within specifications
  • Ensure building and product is secure during scheduled hours
  • Supervise the basic fundamentals of warehouse safety and good housekeeping
  • Confirm warehouse SOP’s are being adhered to and handle corrective actions as necessary
  • Address employee issues effectively and efficiently without preferences or judgment
  • Effectively oversee warehouse personnel performance and provide cross training when and as needed for personal development and company economic objectives
  • Conduct employee performance reviews
  • Complete daily sanitation schedule and process end-shift paperwork
  • Consistently inform Operations Manager of potential problems and changes
  • Act as backup in the absence of the Operations Manager
  • Perform special projects as assigned by Operations Manager
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Job Specifications
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years distribution and warehouse management experience in receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for property in a warehouse or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience is required
  • Experience with Pharmaceutical warehousing preferred
  • Experience with HazMat shipping is preferred
  • Familiar with temperature controlled warehousing
  • Familiar with FDA and cGMP requirements
  • Demonstration of the following:
    • Effective time management skills
    • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to conduct appropriate research as needed
    • Attention to detail and organization
    • Critical thinking
    • Interest to work in a fast-paced environment
Technical Expertise
  • Navigate through ERP system – Tecsys Elite, MQ1
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience with warehouse or supply chain environments and transportation
  • Ability to conduct/track graphical and data-driven analytics related to Client performance
  • Ability to maintain and track budget/spending trends
  • Advanced public speaking and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Additional Employment Requirements
  • Must be able to successfully pass all preliminary employment requirements (i.e., background check and drug screen)
  • Must have a valid driver's license
Physical/Mental/Visual Demands
  • Work is light to medium in nature with frequent walking to perform assigned tasks
  • Occasional lifting of 50 - 75 lbs. is required
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with shippers and employees
  • Approximately 10% of time is spent on key entry
  • Must be able to read at a distance close to the eyes and at arm’s length, with or without correction
Working Conditions
  • Activities occur both inside (protected from weather conditions but not temperature changes) and outside
  • Employee is subjected to extreme cold while supervising in the freezer
  • Hazardous conditions may exist, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current and working in high places
