We are hiring a Part-Time Extended Day Guide for our Guidepost Montessori school at Central West End!

At Guidepost Montessori, our Extended Day team creates a calm and joyful end to each child's day. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with children ages 0–6 and wants to contribute to a meaningful after-school experience in a supportive environment.

Schedule

This is a part-time position supporting our after-school program, and typically works between 2:00pm - 6:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Your Impact

As a Part-Time Extended Day Guide, you'll support our after-school program for children ages 0-6. You'll help create a peaceful, engaging environment where children can unwind, explore, and connect at the end of the day.

You'll also play a key role during pick-up, helping create a warm, welcoming experience for families and ensuring each child's day ends in a calm, connected way.
While this is a part-time role, you'll play an important part in shaping the flow of the afternoon. You'll support planned activities, help maintain a consistent routine, and contribute ideas to make the program enriching and enjoyable for children.

What You'll Do

  • Support a calm, safe, and engaging after-school environment
  • Facilitate a mix of structured and open-ended activities
  • Prepare materials and maintain an orderly space
  • Supervise and engage with children in a warm, respectful way
  • Welcome and engage with families at pick-up, ensuring a smooth transition home and sharing relevant updates
  • Partner with the school team to ensure a smooth transition from the school day to extended care
  • Contribute ideas and feedback to help strengthen the extended day experience

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with young children in a school, childcare, or camp setting
  • A reliable, adaptable, organized, and proactive mindset
  • A warm, patient, and engaging presence with children and families
  • Ability to take initiative while also collaborating closely with a team
  • A genuine love for working with young children
  • Interest in learning and growing within the Montessori approach (prior Montessori experience is welcome but not required)

What We Offer

  • Fully sponsored Montessori diploma training through the Prepared Montessorian Institute
  • Ongoing professional development and mentorship
  • Competitive pay: $18.00 - $20.00 hourly, depending on experience
  • Abundant opportunities for growth and career advancement
  • A supportive network of peers who value collaboration and shared best practices
