Job description

Le Jardin Academy is looking for Extended Day Preschool Assistants/Aides. As part of our Extended Day program, the role of Aide/Assistant is to support the Extended Day Teacher with the development of our preschool students, socially, and emotionally in alignment with a fun and safe recreational program during Afterschool and Summer Programs. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00pm- 5:15pm/6:00pm. Hourly pay range: $16.00-$19.00.

POSITION SUMMARY

The role of Primary Preschool Extended Day Aide/Assistant will support the LJA mission statement and implementation of the summer and/or after school programs, model the school-wide Agreements and the attributes of the IB Learner Profile, exhibit courteous behavior and a sense of professionalism at all times, and demonstrate an enjoyment of working with children.


As part of our Extended Day program, the role of Aide/Assistant is to support the Extended Day Teacher with the development of our preschool students, socially, and emotionally in alignment with a fun and safe recreational program during Afterschool and Summer Programs.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Extended Day Teacher with implementation of age appropriate lessons and recreational activities

  • Supports classroom management and established routines

  • Support student learning during afterschool

  • Supports with supervision of students during instructional time, recess, and transitions

  • Communicate effectively with the preschool team

  • Communicates to appropriate persons student behavior

  • Follow all school policies and procedures detailed in the Employee Handbook.
