The Ridge Behavioral Health System is a 110-bed hospital offering psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for children, adolescents, and adults.
Our specialized treatment services are provided by a multidisciplinary team of highly trained psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, addiction counselors, nurses, and activity therapists. The Ridge Behavioral Health System prides itself as being the only free-standing psychiatric hospital in the Central Kentucky area. We have provided behavioral health servicesto over 92 Kentucky counties for over 39 years.

The Expressive Therapist is responsible for: developing and implementing various aspects of the expressive therapy program based upon each units needs and demographics; developing and implementing Recreation Therapy treatment plans in conjunction with and attends the interdisciplinary treatment team meetings; providing therapy consistent with level of growth, development, age, and functioning; providing therapy consistent with overall treatment goals; completing Recreation Therapy section of the treatment plan within 72 hours of admission for assigned patients; completing progress notes for assigned patients.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy OR Master’s Degree in Art or Education required. Board certification (MT-BC) or eligibility to sit for national exam conducted through the Certification Board for Music Therapist (CBMT) licensure OR LPATA with supervision or LPAT/ATR-BC required. Previous inpatient mental health experience preferred.
