Location: Virginia Beach, VA

Bring Your Body Shop Skills to Manufacturing

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Industrial Body Shop Technician for a growing manufacturing company specializing in custom architectural products.

This is not an automotive collision repair position. Instead, you'll use your body shop skills to prepare fabricated metal components for paint and finishing. If you have experience with metal finishing, surface preparation, body filler, sanding, and cosmetic repairs, this is an excellent opportunity to put those skills to work in a stable manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do
  • Grind, sand, and smooth fabricated metal surfaces
  • Repair dents, imperfections, and surface defects
  • Apply body filler, primers, and sealers
  • Perform basic metal shaping and straightening
  • Prepare parts for the paint department
  • Operate grinders, sanders, drills, and other hand and power tools
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality and cosmetic appearance
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Collaborate with fabrication, welding, and paint teams to meet production goals
Qualifications

We're looking for candidates with experience in one or more of the following:

  • Automotive body shop
  • Collision repair
  • Metal finishing
  • Industrial manufacturing
  • Fabrication
  • Paint preparation
  • Surface preparation

Successful candidates will have:

  • Experience using grinders, sanders, and hand tools
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Pride in producing quality work
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Stand, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
  • Work safely around dust, noise, and manufacturing equipment
  • Wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots
Schedule
  • Monday–Friday
  • First Shift
  • Overtime opportunities available, including Saturdays as needed
