Job Title: Experienced Medical Assistant – Cardiology
Location: Ocala, FL
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on experience)
Benefits: Full benefits package available after 90 days

We are a busy, patient-focused cardiology center in Ocala, FL dedicated to providing high-quality cardiovascular care. We are seeking a highly experienced Medical Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is committed to delivering excellent patient care.

Position Summary
The Medical Assistant will support physicians and clinical staff with a variety of clinical and administrative duties. This role requires strong experience in patient care, attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently manage workflows, including entering physician orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Room patients, obtain vital signs, and accurately document medical history
  • Assist physicians with exams and in-office procedures
  • Enter and manage physician orders, including labs, imaging, and referrals
  • Perform EKGs and assist with cardiology-related diagnostic testing (preferred)
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring proper cleanliness and stocking of supplies
  • Administer injections and medications as directed
  • Collect, label, and process lab specimens
  • Monitor patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations
  • Document all patient interactions in the EMR system
  • Handle prescription refills and prior authorizations
  • Provide patient education and follow-up instructions
  • Collaborate with providers and staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and adhere to clinical safety standards

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of Medical Assistant experience required
  • Cardiology experience strongly preferred
  • Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred but not required
  • Proven ability to enter physician orders accurately in an EMR system
  • Experience with Intergy EMR system is preferred but not required
  • Experience performing EKGs and working with cardiac equipment is a plus
  • Strong clinical knowledge and patient care skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
