Onsite Work location in Tempe, AZ
Express Scripts Pharmacy is a division of Evernorth Health Services a part of The Cigna Group is looking for an experienced Arizona Certified Pharmacy Technician to work onsite at our Tempe Fulfillment Center. We also welcome Arizona Licensed Pharmacy Technician Trainees.
Are you ready to step into a position that combines your communication skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and unrelenting drive to patients? We're looking for Certified Pharmacy Technicians (or Pharmacy Technician Trainee licensed) to join our pharmacy team. If you've worked in Pharmacy Operations before, this role is different - you'll take your knowledge and expand it beyond your belief. Take a break from a retail environment, enjoy a set schedule, and come enjoy the satisfaction of helping others! Prepare prescriptions on a large scale while working closely with our team of Pharmacists as need. We're pretty sure you'll love this position.
Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 2:30pm - 1:00am
How you'll make a difference:
  • Be a superstar in the eyes of your team and the end patient: Select and retrieve appropriate quantities of medication and prepare the labels that correspond. No need to answer patient questions as those are answered by another skilled team.
  • Use your expert problem solving skills to help our patients be their best every day: Work with a skilled team in a temperature controlled facility to ensure patients get their medication they need in a timely manner.
  • Create new knowledge with our systems and new relationships with your peers: You'll start with training but you're not doing it alone. You will enjoy a supportive environment with your peers and other teams who want you to succeed.

Responsibilities:
  • Accurately and responsibly operates production equipment to include but not limited to:
  • Changing prescription labels
  • Cleaning printers
  • Monitoring production equipment
  • Repacking and restocking medications/materials
  • Preparation of drugs for dispensing
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and production clerks to ensure that medications are adequately filled and packed
  • Clean and help maintain equipment and work area
  • Assigned additional tasks as required

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma / GED required, a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred but not required.
  • Arizona (AZ) Pharmacy Technician license; will accept AZ Pharmacy Trainee license
  • Experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
  • Basic math skills and General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office, use of the internet and email is required.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within dispensing pharmacy preferred
  • Very detailed oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, learn quickly, solve problems and make decisions.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate heavy work volumes.
  • Ability and desire to assist team members

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand for 10 hours per day, this can be in one area or walking throughout the day depending on their scheduled area.
  • Must be able to lift at least 15 lbs.
  • Reaching upwards above the head repeatedly.
  • Must be able to open manufacturer bottles
  • Be able to use a bottle chopper repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Able to go up and down the stairs repeatedly during a shift, ability to kneel and bend down to check underneath tables / HVF filler for stray tablets.
