Job description

We have an exciting Export Product & Process Specialist role for Seaboard Foods at our Sioux City, Iowa plant. The Export Product and Process Specialist resides in the production facility and serves as the key contact between FSQA, operations, and our export sales team to ensure all specifications are met as well as developing new product codes and specification changes. This position will help resolve all complaints and claims, then develop corrective and preventative actions to implement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with operations and FSQA departments in consistent management of export product quality and production to specification with an emphasis on products destined for Japan.
  • Work with operations and FSQA departments in responding to export customer questions, complaints, and claims.
  • Work with operations and FSQA management in developing a positive culture with all production and FSQA employees regarding export product, with an emphasis on Japan product.
  • Serve as the backup to the sales desk. Perform all functions with order management.
  • Work with product management on product availability and inventory management to assist sales department.
  • Assist the sales group with hosting export customers to the facility, this can include general tours, assisting with specific audits, hosting off-site meals, and providing transportation.
  • Help to prepare the operations and FSQA teams for any export customer/auditor visitors.
  • Follow up on summaries and customer requests.
  • Develop relationships with key customers and maintain communication channel with export sales to customers.
  • Will support the team and manage all desks when needed.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours as needed and after hours to answer and address production issues, calls, and emails.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • Food manufacturing experience required
  • Familiarity with protein production and fabrication, processes, equipment, quality assurance, and specifications required
  • An understanding of Japanese culture and social protocols required

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Travel is required between trips to corporate office and between all three plants.
