Resicum International LLC is seeking motivated and experienced Aircraft Mechanic I – Ordnance Team Members to support organizational-level maintenance operations for VMFA-112 at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (NAS JRB) Fort Worth, Texas.

This position supports the inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, installation, removal, and operational testing of F/A-18 aircraft ordnance and armament systems across multiple variants. Working under the guidance of senior maintenance personnel and Ordnance Team Leads, the Aircraft Mechanic I – Ordnance Team Member helps ensure aircraft weapons systems are maintained safely and effectively in accordance with NAVAIR technical publications, explosive safety requirements, quality assurance standards, and established maintenance procedures.

Position Summary

The Aircraft Mechanic I – Ordnance Team Member performs scheduled and unscheduled organizational-level maintenance on F/A-18 aircraft ordnance systems, armament equipment, and associated mechanical components. Responsibilities include inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, operational testing, aircraft servicing, and support of flight line operations while ensuring compliance with Navy maintenance procedures, explosive safety standards, and mission readiness requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled organizational-level maintenance on F/A-18 aircraft across multiple variants.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, modify, install, remove, and operationally test aircraft ordnance and armament systems.
  • Maintain and repair weapons release systems, bomb racks, ejector racks, missile launchers, launch rails, gun systems, and associated aircraft components.
  • Troubleshoot aircraft discrepancies involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, structural, and electrical systems using approved technical publications and diagnostic equipment.
  • Remove, replace, rig, align, adjust, and operationally test aircraft and ordnance system components following maintenance actions.
  • Conduct preflight, turnaround, post-flight, conditional, and special inspections.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, configuring, and maintaining aircraft ordnance systems in accordance with approved technical procedures and explosive safety standards.
  • Perform operational and functional checks to verify aircraft and ordnance system serviceability following maintenance.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MIMs), Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPBs), wiring diagrams, service bulletins, technical directives, and other approved technical publications.
  • Perform routine aircraft servicing, including lubrication, hydraulic servicing, filter replacement, brake inspections, and general mechanical servicing.
  • Assist with aircraft towing, jacking, recovery, and ground handling operations.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, precision measuring instruments, aircraft test equipment, and specialized aircraft support equipment.
  • Assist in the inspection and maintenance of aircraft explosive devices and associated ordnance components while adhering to all explosive safety procedures.
  • Document maintenance actions, inspections, discrepancy reports, and aircraft logbook entries in accordance with Navy maintenance documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with senior mechanics, Production Control, Quality Assurance, engineering personnel, and Government representatives.
  • Maintain compliance with Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention, Tool Control Program (TCP), explosive safety requirements, hazardous material handling procedures, environmental regulations, and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives to improve aircraft reliability, maintenance efficiency, and mission readiness.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
  • Ability to climb ladders, aircraft stands, and maintenance platforms.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and around operating aircraft.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and work overhead for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely handle aircraft support equipment, tools, and ordnance-related components in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements:Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of aircraft maintenance experience, with experience supporting F/A-18 aircraft or other military tactical aircraft preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience performing aircraft inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and servicing.
  • Working knowledge of F/A-18 aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and applicable technical publications.
  • Experience performing maintenance on aircraft mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, structural, and flight control systems.
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft ordnance systems, armament equipment, weapons release systems, and explosive safety procedures.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft electrical systems sufficient to support aircraft and ordnance system troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MIMs), Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPBs), wiring diagrams, service bulletins, technical directives, and other approved technical publications.
  • Experience using aircraft maintenance support equipment, precision measuring instruments, specialized aircraft maintenance tools, and aircraft test equipment.
  • Ability to remove, install, rig, align, adjust, troubleshoot, and operationally test aircraft and ordnance system components.
  • Knowledge of hazardous material handling, explosive safety, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention, and Tool Control Program (TCP) requirements.
  • Strong organizational, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize assigned maintenance tasks while meeting production schedules and mission requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively under the guidance of senior maintenance personnel while maintaining strict compliance with quality assurance, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required installation access credentials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps experience maintaining F/A-18A/B/C/D, F/A-18E/F, or EA-18G aircraft.
  • Previous experience supporting aircraft ordnance, armament, or weapons maintenance operations.
  • Experience supporting Organizational (O-Level), Intermediate (I-Level), or Depot (D-Level) aircraft maintenance.
  • Formal military training in aircraft ordnance, aviation structural mechanics, aviation ordnanceman (AO), or aircraft maintenance.
  • Experience supporting Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Contractor Logistics Support (CLS), NAVAIR, or U.S. Department of Defense aviation maintenance contracts.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one, if required by the contract.
