Job description

Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation is a US-based gold and silver mining company, which operates its wholly owned Hycroft open pit, gold, and silver mine located an hour southwest of Winnemucca, Nevada.

Job Description

Core Shed Supervisor performs and monitors projects and programs dealing with drilling, sample collection, preparation, storage, shipping and record-keeping. Position will work with and lead the team to execute department objectives while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Hycroft’s values.

Responsibilities
  • Provides safety leadership to meet Hycroft’s safe workplace expectations
  • Performs and monitors all aspects of sampling core and RC drilling
  • Coordinates logistical functions related to sampling, shipping, and storage tasks
  • Mentor and develop core shed personnel
  • Interfaces with contractors and other departments in the pursuit of project goals
  • Monitors, corrects errors, and improves routine procedures at all technician levels
  • Assists in developing and maintaining procedures and disciplines necessary to proficiently perform all tasks
  • Provide updates on processing, shipping, storage progress and needs
  • Maintain department specific records, logs, and files as required
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
  • Perform related functions as assigned
Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in an exploration sample processing environment, prior experience leading a team preferred
  • Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills
  • General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of processing and maintenance operations
  • Working knowledge and skill with computers utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of the exploration team
  • Must demonstrate mastery in the operation of all sampling-related equipment and duties
