Join Our Team Database Manager & Development Operations Coordinator

Exploration Place is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Database Manager & Development Operations Coordinator to support our fundraising and donor engagement efforts.

This role is responsible for the day-to-day management and accuracy of our donor database while supporting gift processing, donor stewardship, fundraising campaigns, reporting and development operations. The ideal candidate enjoys working with data, understands the importance of getting the details right and can turn accurate information into useful tools for a successful fundraising team.

Please note that submitting a cover letter is required for this position. What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Manage and maintain donor and constituent records, ensuring data is accurate, complete and confidential
  • Process donations, memberships, sponsorships, grants and special event gifts
  • Prepare donor acknowledgment letters, tax receipts and other stewardship communications
  • Track pledges, recurring gifts, donor recognition and communication preferences
  • Coordinate database operations for annual fund and year-end fundraising campaigns
  • Create mailing lists, donor segments, reports and campaign tracking
  • Develop reports and dashboards related to fundraising performance, donor retention and giving trends
  • Support grant tracking, prospect research and donor pipeline management
  • Work with finance staff to reconcile gifts and maintain accurate donation records
  • Collaborate with marketing and development teams on donor communications, appeals and fundraising campaigns
  • Maintain database standards, conduct regular data cleanup and help train staff on database best practices
  • Provide operational support for fundraising events and other development initiatives
What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent professional experience in nonprofit management, business administration, communications or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in fundraising operations, donor database management or development administration
  • Experience with donor CRM/database systems such as Blackbaud Raiserโ€™s Edge, Altru, Salesforce, Bloomerang or similar platforms
  • Understanding of gift processing, donor acknowledgments, annual fund operations and fundraising reporting
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and mail merge functions

Experience in a museum, cultural institution, educational organization or nonprofit environment is a plus, as is experience with donor stewardship, fundraising campaigns, email marketing or direct mail.
