Job Description

AECOM is looking for an accomplished AVP, Design-Build Manager to lead some of the East Coast's most complex and high-profile transportation & water projects. This is an opportunity to shape the future of infrastructure by overseeing large-scale, multi-disciplinary highway and transit programs from concept through delivery. In this role, you'll leverage your design-build expertise to guide cross-functional teams, manage high-stakes client relationships, and deliver innovative, resilient solutions that improve mobility and strengthen communities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identifies potential program problems or opportunities, analyzes the issues using all appropriate resources, develops alternatives and arrives at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities.

  • Manages the most complex and sensitive projects, often in multiple geographic locations. Many projects assigned are distinguished by their magnitude or program complexity, requiring that more than one person be involved.

  • Acts independently or as a team leader representing IE with consulting firms and is responsible for ensuring that the final product of the project or program team reflects the original scope and budget requirements.

  • Develops and maintains comprehensive program plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budget forecasts.

  • Leads cross-functional teams and coordinates activities across multiple departments to ensure program objectives are met.

  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and executive leadership.

  • Implements and oversees risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential program risks.

  • Develops and presents regular program status reports to executive management and stakeholders.

  • Mentors and develops junior program managers and team members to build organizational capacity.

  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program management processes and methodologies.

  • Ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and company policies throughout program execution.

  • Negotiates and manages complex contracts with vendors and partners to support program objectives.

  • Leads change management efforts to facilitate successful program implementation and adoption

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of transportation project experience.

  • Experienced with Design Build delivery for final design.

  • Design Build Project Experience.

  • Experience leading and managing transportation design-build projects on large complex highway projects. 

  • Experience managing a large team in a fast-paced environment. 

  • State Professional Engineer License, or the ability to obtain within twelve months. 

  • Position will require frequent travel to project and client sites.
