What is an Exploit Developer job?

This role requires deep knowledge of programming, reverse engineering, and security protocols. Some exploit developers work in ethical hacking or penetration testing, while others conduct research for security firms, government agencies, or cybersecurity vendors.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Exploit Developer position, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Exploit Developer, you need a strong background in computer science, reverse engineering, low-level programming (C/C++, Assembly), and vulnerability analysis. Applications Engineer – Passive Fire Protection (PFP)
Location: Field-based, US (with regular travel)

Morgan Advanced Materials designs and makes specialist materials that quietly keep some pretty critical things safe, efficient, and compliant. One of those is Passive Fire Protection — the systems that stop fire spreading when it really matters.
We’re now looking for an Applications Engineer to help get our PFP systems specified early, installed correctly, and chosen for the right reasons. This role sits right at the intersection of technical knowhow, commercial thinking, and real-world site experience.

The Role
You’ll be out in the field, not stuck behind a desk. One day you might be training installers or walking a job site. The next, you’ll be working with engineers or architects to influence specifications before products are locked in.
Your focus is simple: grow demand for our PFP systems (including FireMaster FastWrap XLS), reduce reliance on distributor-led selling, and make sure projects convert from spec to order to installation.

Key Responsibilities
You’ll spend your time:
  • Driving specification and demand for Passive Fire Protection systems
  • Building strong relationships with installers, contractors, engineers, architects, and inspectors
  • Running installer, contractor, and union training sessions (and making them worth attending)
  • Identifying and tracking project-based opportunities from early design through install
  • Providing technical guidance, system recommendations, and submittals
  • Influencing specifications early — before price becomes the only conversation
  • Working closely with distributors to support project execution and availability
  • Using value-based selling to highlight performance, compliance, and labor efficiency
  • Keeping CRM updated with pipeline activity, forecasts, and market insight
  • Feeding back competitor activity, customer needs, and product gaps to internal teams

  • About You / What You’ll Bring
    You’ll likely bring:
    • Experience in technical sales, field applications, or commercial roles within construction, insulation, fire protection, or industrial markets
    • Solid knowledge of Passive Fire Protection systems (or closely related products)
    • Confidence working with installers, contractors, engineers, and specifiers
    • The ability to explain technical detail clearly — without drowning people in it
    • A practical, organised approach and comfort managing your own territory
    • Willingness to travel regularly and spend time on-site
    • Strong communication skills and a relationship-first mindset
    • Comfort working cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems

    Nice to Have
    • Familiarity with UL / Intertek listings and compliance requirements
    • Experience influencing specifications early in the project lifecycle
    • A degree in Engineering, Construction, Sales, Marketing, or a related field

    What You’ll Get
You’ll join a business that values practical expertise, straight talking, and doing things properly. You’ll have the autonomy to run your territory, support from experienced internal teams, and the chance to make a visible impact on how our PFP systems are specified and installed.

Morgan Advanced Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We’re committed to building an inclusive workplace and welcome applications from all backgrounds.
