About This Role
The Department of Physics is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and self-driven Postdoctoral Researcher to explore the statistical mechanics of soft matter and biological systems. The successful candidate will join the Group of Prof.Buddhapriya (Buddho) Chakrabarti in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Biomanufacturing Cluster at Kansas State University.

What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD in Physics with a preferred focus on theoretical Soft-Matter and Biological Physics or related fields.
The degree requirement is necessary to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in statistical mechanics and computational modelling of soft matter
- Expertise in Coarse-Grained Molecular Dynamics simulations e.g., LAMMPS/GROMACS, and data visualization in OVITO
- Expertise in numerical solutions of ordinary, partial, stochastic, and delay differential equations - in C/C++/FORTRAN/Python/MATLAB
- Expertise in Symbolic computation in MATHEMATICA
- Familiarity with continuum mechanics - e.g., elasticity and fluid mechanics
- Familiarity with techniques of statistical field theory including mean-field and self-consistent field theories
