The American Dental Education Association (ADEA) is seeking to add a talentedManager, Learning Programs, to its team.
Position Summary
The Manager, Learning Programs provides daily management and ongoing development of professional development programming within ADEA's Office of Learning (OL), including but not limited to coordinating virtual and in-person learning experiences, and managing eLearn programming. The incumbent will collaborate with the VP, eLearn, the Director, Online Learning and Technology, and other Office of Learning team members as they collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to design and implement professional development programs for ADEA's members.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage the development and day-to-day maintenance of the ADEA Micro-credential Program as directed by the VP, eLearn, including but not limited to:.
- Overseeing the bi-annual review cycle and coordinating the activities of the Micro-credential Review Committee,
- Collaborating with the VP, eLearn and member volunteers on the development of new micro-credentials,
- Tracking overall submissions through the learning management system (LMS) and using program analytics to inform the expansion of the Micro-credential Program,
- Managing the marketing efforts to increase micro-credential visibility and member engagement with the program, and
- Evaluating the Micro-credential Program performance and user satisfaction to assess programmatic success and provide suggestions for continuous improvement.
- Manage ADEA's eLearn digital badging system, including the routine update and management of badges, issuing of badges, and general troubleshooting and customer service for all badging opportunities. This includes reviewing and providing recommendations for continuous improvements that meet the needs of the learners and ensure alignment with industry standards.
- Manage all technical and logistical aspects of live and on-demand ADEA eLearn webinars, as directed by the VP, eLearn, including but not limited to:
- In collaboration with the VP, eLearn, assist in speaker identification and recruitment for the development and production of webinars and asynchronous courses.
- Speaker correspondence and management (e.g. scheduling the event, planning call, speaker agreements, content development, technical support for speaker, etc.),
- Registration build and management of all aspects of the event within the LMS,
- Moderation and production of live events (e.g. handling audience interaction through features like polls and Q&A, ensuring smooth transitions between content, and troubleshooting technical issues),
- Post-production management of webinar recordings, on-demand course setup and maintenance within the LMS, generation and assessment of registration and evaluation reports, CE credit processing, and on-demand customer support.
- Oversee the daily operation and management of ADEA's LMS, including homepage and site content updates, user interface configuration, webinar and course page creation and maintenance, technical troubleshooting, user account management, customer support, and ongoing platform enhancements to ensure an effective and user-friendly learning environment in alignment with ADEA's organizational goals.
- Collaborate with other ADEA staff members to develop and manage the virtual and hybrid course content within the LMS, including but not limited to creating course content and learning assets using authoring tools, developing courses within the LMS, providing technical orientation to course facilitators, providing user support throughout course, and monitoring overall learner satisfaction and engagement to provide suggestions for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other staff within OL and the Office of Membership, Marketing and Communications to develop marketing outreach for all OL initiatives, including but not limited to ADEA Micro-credentials, ADEA eLearn webinars, and ADEA eLearn courses.
- Oversee and maintain updated copies of contracts for all OL vendors and consultants and serve as point of contact for OL vendors, including monitoring contract timelines and processing payment to vendors.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures to streamline eLearn activities to ensure increased efficiency.
- Support the staff liaison to the Council of Faculties, including the preparation of monthly meetings and annual meeting programming.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional education and experience required.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience, including project and learning programs management.
- Prior experience working in an academic, association or a non-profit environment is strongly preferred.
- Expertise with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), PDF, Qualtrics, and webinar/meeting software such as Zoom/Teams. Ability to learn new technologies as needed.
- Strong knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and LMS website management.
- Understanding of learning theory and ability to apply it to the development of learning programs.
- Must possess excellent judgment, exceptional organizational skills, and professional discretion with information.
- Attention to detail, deadline orientation and flexibility required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with diverse speakers and audiences in a virtual environment.
- Must be self-motivated, confident, proactive and comfortable working independently.
- Poise, tact, and diplomacy, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work successfully in a diverse team environment and collaborate effectively with others.
- The capacity to handle multiple tasks and the ability to remain positive and productive in demanding situations.
- Ability to travel to member meetings to support ADEA events, as needed, including some weekends.
- Ability to work some evenings to support eLearn webinars and virtual activities, as needed.
- Must be able to work onsite at ADEA's Washington, D.C. office Monday through Thursday as part of a required hybrid schedule; remote work is permitted on Fridays.
This position's salary range is $70,000 to $82,000. In addition to a rewarding and purposeful mission, ADEA offers you a collaborative team environment with competitive salary and excellent benefits, including health, vision, dental and life insurance, wellness benefits, a 35-hour work week, generous paid leave and a 403(b) retirement plan with 10% employer contribution.
