About Us
Exotic Pet Vets is the largest, privately owned veterinary group in North America that focuses exclusively on exotic pets. Our hospitals offer specialist level care and are equipped with modern diagnostic equipment including full in-house labwork, digital radiology, and CT and doctors are supported by highly trained staff. We see a wide range of species including avians, small mammals, reptiles, aquatics, and some wildlife. Our veterinarians participate in company-wide educational rounds and are involved in teaching student externs, interns, and residents.

We are currently in search of specialists for both our Portland and Phoenix/Mesa locations which provides the perfect opportunity whether you are looking for the lush greenery of the PNW or the year-round hiking available in the beautiful Arizona desert!

Position Summary and Qualifications
We are seeking board certified veterinarians (Dipl ABVP avian, exotic companion mammal, reptile/amphibian, or ACZM) but would consider residency trained associates or those with 3+ years of exotics exclusive practice.

Responsibilities
  • Consistently practice high-level evidence-based medicine and perform advanced procedures and surgeries.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
  • Collaborate with other associates and assist in mentorship of interns and residents.
  • Communicate with empathy, professionalism, and clarity in all client interactions.
  • Consistently model and promote the organization’s core values and foster a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
  • Remain current on advancements in exotic pet medicine and surgery through continuing education and professional development.
  • Attend and actively participate in educational rounds and required meetings as scheduled.
