WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
As a member of the Kids Footwear Team, you will work collaboratively with key functional partners throughout the Product Development process. This includes Footwear Engineering, Footwear Product Testing, Footwear Material Design and Material Development, Product Design, Product Management, Product Merchandising, Sourcing and Operations, and our overseas partners - both within NIKE and external to NIKE. You will report to the Footwear Development Director in Kids.
You will need to navigate the Nike matrix to ensure that our processes model and match NIKE Footwear Development standard methodologies for product excellence. You are the key point of contact for our overseas partners and ensure that communication during the product development process is clear and accurate.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Footwear Senior Developer to be an integral part of our Footwear Product Team, creating amazing footwear for our youngest athletes! The ideal candidate needs to have demonstrated project management, collaboration, problem solving and influencing skills in a product creation setting. We are looking for people that are self-starters, quick learners, clear communicators, team players and that exhibit strong leadership skills. As a member of our Nike Kids team, you will create the future of kids' footwear and solve problems that are relevant to the ages and stages of a kid's development.
What you bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Product Management, Product Design, Engineering or a related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
  • 5+ years' work experience in a product creation role
  • Demonstrated understanding of footwear pattern engineering, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
  • Effective Collaborator adept at working productively within a team.
    • Experience collaborating with internal and external partners.
    • Experience facilitating meetings, driving consensus, and influencing others.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives.
  • Proven Ability to identify & suggest cost effective solutions.
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple workstreams with competing priorities to deliver on tight timelines
  • Experience in project management, problem-solving scenarios and applying solutions.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated Self Starter that is willing to learn and grow.
  • A demonstrated ability to tinker, to create prototypes, to explore, learn, and to find ways to improve products
  • Ability to read and create technical drawings, sketches and/or 3D files

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
As a Senior Footwear Developer in Nike Kids, you'll drive product and process excellence within a team environment for your assigned projects. Working on complex footwear projects, you will convert a project brief and a 2D design rendering into a 3D sample that meets the needs of the consumer as well as the needs of the business. You'll engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are managed according to critical dates and completed on time, while meeting design intent, performance goals, costing/profitability and sustainability targets. In addition, you'll ensure that your projects are ready for the commercialization process and can ultimately be manufactured. In short, you get to create amazing footwear product for kids!
