Job description

Title: Tool Builder– Sterling Heights, MI
Schedule: 6:30am - 3pm
Job Description: A detail oriented and organized individual to join our company as a Tool Builder in our Production Department. This is a full-time position. The Tool Builder is responsible for receiving storing, and issuing cutting tools, machine tools, materials, and equipment in the shop.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain assigned work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Issues tools and equipment to workers and maintains records of tooling.
  • Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
  • Inspects, measures and sets tools.
  • Marks and identifies tools and equipment, using identifications tag, stamp, or marking tool.
Qualifications:
  • Must have excellent communication skills, be able to pass the necessary information to department managers.
  • Must show ability to be detail oriented, organized, and follow directions.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, as well as working independently.
  • Must always exhibit a high level of flexibility and an ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
  • Must possess good reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must possess knowledge of supply chain activities.
  • Must have good time management ability to be able to meet up with kit and assembly schedules.
  • Must possess computer skills.
  • Must be able to exhibit willingness to learn new database system.
  • 1 year experience working with inventory.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to walk up and down stairs
  • Basic knowledge of general machining practices, the ability to correctly use required gages and other required inspection equipment, blue print reading, and other mechanical applications as required (training may be provided if necessary).
