This role provides essential support to the Estimating and Production teams, learning to create technical drawings and collaborate across departments to bring trade show exhibits to life.

  • Assist in creating detailed technical drawings and production plans for trade show exhibits under the guidance of senior detailers.
  • Collaborate with the Design team to interpret creative concepts and translate them into buildable construction plans.
  • Learn to develop instructional drawings that guide the construction, assembly, and dismantle of trade show exhibit components.
  • Support the evaluation of detail drawings and bills of material, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Work cross-departmentally with Project Management, Estimating, Graphics, and Production teams to understand project specifications and construction requirements.
  • Learn and apply industry best practices for fast assembly and dismantle at trade show sites.
  • Add value to designs through practical construction methods while maintaining the design's aesthetic integrity.
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation, tracking revisions and updates throughout the production process.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide input on construction feasibility and potential improvements.
  • Embrace feedback and mentoring opportunities to develop technical skills and industry knowledge.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Associate's degree in drafting, engineering technology, industrial design, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Basic proficiency with CAD software. At MSM, we use AutoCAD Architectural 3D.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to create accurate technical drawings and documentation.
  • Eagerness to learn about trade show construction, fabrication methods, industry standards, CNC programming, and accurate measurement.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills and ability to work well in team settings.
