Walker Methodist Westwood Ridge in West St. Paul offers senior living with services to 127 customers, a 37-bed transitional care and rehabilitation center, 24 memory care apartments and 10 care suites.
Job Description
Walker Methodist Westwood Ridgeseeks a Fitness Technician to implement exercise programs to facilitate strength, balance and fitness for Fitness Center members. In addition to direct supervision of the Fitness Center, the Fitness Technician will be responsible for new member recruitment and the entire new member on-boarding process from initial sign-up, conducting fitness assessments and orientation.
Full-time days, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or equivalent
  • ACSM EP-C certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Current BLS certification
  • Experience evaluating, designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for older adults
  • Working knowledge of exercise contraindications and appropriate exercise techniques to common medical issues such as joint issues, cardio-pulmonary disease and metabolic disease
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment
  • Ability to organize work flow with timely follow-through
  • Commitment to assisting seniors in developing to their fullest potential

  • Experience leading group exercise classes and/or nationally recognized group exercise certifications
