Schedule: Full Time |80 hours/pay period| 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.| Monday through Friday

Pay Range: $19 - $25/hour (non-exempt), based on experience, qualifications, and location.

As a Wellness Specialist II, you’ll play a key role in empowering older adults to maintain strength, balance, and overall fitness. You’ll design and lead engaging group and one-on-one exercise programs, oversee fitness center operations, and collaborate with rehabilitation teams to ensure holistic wellness support.

As a Wellness Specialist II, you will:

  • Lead Customized Fitness Programs – Design and implement individualized and group exercise programs tailored to older adults’ needs, ensuring safety, effectiveness, and engagement.
  • Provide Direct Training and Assessments – Conduct fitness assessments, develop wellness plans, and lead one-on-one training sessions to support strength, balance, and functional mobility.
  • Support Rehabilitation and Wellness – Collaborate with therapy and medical teams to assess customer progress, make referrals when appropriate, and ensure a seamless continuum of care.
  • Educate and Innovate – Develop and pilot new fitness programs, lead wellness initiatives, mentor interns, and assist in professional training to enhance team capabilities.
  • Maintain Safety and Engagement – Supervise the fitness floor, ensure cleanliness and equipment maintenance, and foster an encouraging, customer-focused environment that inspires participation.
  • Other Duties as Assigned – The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

This job also requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience as a fitness professional, preferably working with older adults.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Energetic, self-directed, and highly motivated with strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to engage, educate, and inspire participants in a variety of wellness programs.
  • Ability to pass state mandated background check.
  • Physical capability to perform all essential job functions.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to ensure effective communication with residents, staff, and visitors.
